Tonight and tomorrow are the peak nights for the Perseid meteor shower.  If you've got clear, dark sky, you should be able to see 50-60 meteors an hour tonight!!  Go outside tonight and look to the northeast...toward the constellation Perseus...and  you should see a show!  Check out more info here.

Today we hiked 14 miles in the park! Our destination was Mt. LeConte, at just over 6800ft. The wedding rehearsal came off as a big success. We have made it to the beach! Record time was achieved thanks in part to a very early start and very light traffic. We are now enjoying the sounds of the sea. We met up with Cory and Sara and I will soon be teaching their son Cason how to fly a kite. I have to go now, the surf is calling my name.

We have arrived in Nashville! I love Southwest! Honey roasted peanuts are back and the new and improved seating system is about to begin. Well, I just got off of the Ocoee river where Cory Sewell, Lance Wyatt, Clint Isbill, Jonathan Johnson, and I braved Class II-IV rapids for two hours. The launch is a go with 80% chance of favorable launch conditions. So i'm going to get the car in a few hours then we'll set off for the Cape. Since we don't have tickets, we're going to Titusville which, if you look on a map, is directly across the Indian river from the launch pad.
